Lalon Fakir was born in Bhandara (Chapra-Bhandara) village on the Garai River near Kumarakhali under the Kushtia subdivision of the undivided Nadia district. To Satyadarshi Lalon, the word truth was the only direction. He was honest and truthful. All around him at that time, there was a lot of immorality and the power of religious traders. Lalan and his disciples dreamed of a great and noble human society during those difficult times. He wanted to bring out the most ordinary unrecognized people around him through the true light of the pure form of life.
